The Akwa Ibom Heritage Queen Pageant has recorded a significant milestone following an official visit to the palace of His Eminence, Nteyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk, JP, CFR, Oku Ibom Ibibio and Patriarch of the Ibibio people worldwide.

The royal visit affirms the pageant's commitment to promoting Akwa Ibom's cultural heritage, responsible leadership, youth empowerment, and community development.

During the visit, the Akwa Ibom Heritage Queen Pageant received the official endorsement of the Oku Ibom Ibibio, strengthening the cultural foundation upon which the initiative was established.

A Visit to the Custodian of Ibibio Heritage:

His Eminence, Nteyin (Dr.) Solomon Daniel Etuk, JP, CFR, occupies a highly significant position within the traditional institution of the Ibibio people.

He was unanimously selected as Oku Ibom Ibibio and President of the Supreme Council of Ibibio Traditional Rulers in September 2018, formally proclaimed in November 2018, and coronated at Asan Ibibio in December 2018. He is also the Paramount Ruler of Nsit Ubium Local Government Area.

His traditional leadership has consistently emphasised unity, peace, responsible leadership and community development. Previous public engagements have also shown his advocacy for collaboration among institutions and stakeholders in addressing issues affecting Akwa Ibom communities.

The monarch has additionally served as Chancellor of Akwa Ibom State University (AKSU), following his appointment in 2019.
